They are small (but really nice presents come in small pakets) and they will bit the enemy in the knees, leave them be.

In addition, we haven't seen what they are doing with the Asuran race yet so why would you argue to "redesign" them when you have yet to see how cool they may look with the new graphics capabilities of GW2.

keep the attitude though.

Looking like Stitch is not enough to say they were based off of it. And as I said, even comments on concept art for the Asuras say they are based off of Goblins and the like, not stitch.

Your not in the wrong generation, Stitch isn't popular enough, or old enough, to be worth ripping off from.

When I first saw them I thought ANet was joking with adding something like that into the game.
IMO, they need to completely redesign the whole race or (even better) just remove them.

I say leave them be ... unless you have a better idea for a race that fits their size.

1. What? Cute? Have you ever seen an Asura during battle?
That angry face? All those teeth? Their sharp claws?
They were an underground race. Small size, big eyes, grayish skin, big ears.
That fits underground life.
2. NO. They are engineers, inventors, scientists. Magic is a science too. Is not something that you dvelop just by try and failure, if you study something, you can develop technology from it.
During GW, we already have machinery such as trebuchets and bombards.
After 200 years, they would have developed technology enough to have fireguns, cannons and even steam-like magic-powered machines.
You cannot stop progress.

They're as clearly ripped off of Stitch as the Zerg Hydralisk was blatantly ripped off of the Tyranid Ravener. It's not a coincidence. They could easily pass as the same species. Maybe they are the same species, just like the Zerg are apparently one of the Tyranid Hive Fleets.

Wow, I looked at this thread expecting to see a flame fest. I'm disappointed in you Guru.
Anyway on topic, I don't see any problems with the Asura as is, except for maybe the voices. Oola - well, really just female Asurans in general - makes me want to kill things.

The OP's points are all valid, but despite all the stereotypical parts of the Asura, that's what makes them all the more lovable.

Yes, Anet did rip the Asura design off of Stitch from Lilo & Stitch, there's really no point trying to dispute that.

I find it funny how people go to the most recent idea of pop culture and say "THAT'S WHERE THEY GOT IT! OMGZ!!1!1!!" Instead of looking at older pop culture, which is where I, and apparently very few others, would believe they got it from.
For the sake of argument on this, I'll quote Jaime Jones from the PCGamer GW issue on one of the concepts for the Asura.

I don't think "Stitch" could be considered "primitive," let alone a "cave dweller." Not to mention, the original concept only holds resembelance through the big eyes and big ears, and the big eyes are common for cave dwelling species. *as is the white skin* I can see why people can look at stitch, then at an asura, and say there are similarities, but when you look at other fantasy creatures, that are much older, such as Gremlins and Goblins, they look more similar to those, just an advance version (and obviously one of the old ideas for the Asura were to be primitive). That at least makes me think they were more based off of Gremlins and Goblins, and were turned into high-tech creatures (and based off of an not an alien).
I find it funny how people are so hardcore about how the Asura "were based off of Stitch" when that movie was rather crappy. I wonder how old these people are, as it seems the older fantasy ideas are starting to wear off on "young people" (and I am considered a young person, luckily, I like fantasy so I know some of the older stuff).

Asura are pretty awesome tbh.
If you've looked at them, they have little razor teeth.
My first char in Gw2 will be an asuran, and it will ownnnnnnnnn

Yeah! On top of that, Stich is not cute. Is the style of drawings that makes him look cuter!
If you remember the movies and series, most people find stitch disgusting and weird, with sharp claws, fangs and such.

They're little genius gremlins. More importantly, they're unique. They're much better then say dwarves, gnomes and elves.

Yeah, a Disney movie that made over $100 million at the box office and spawned its own mini-series that's been running for almost 5 years is definitely not popular at all.

I won't comment on point 1 as Azazel and Mithran have already pointed out where the concept for the Asura came from.
As for point 2, you have to keep in mind that in Tyria magic is their physics-it's how their world operates. Thus a society of engineers and scientists are bound to create advanced devices based off of magic, and create scientific words for it. I think it adds a nice touch to the Asurans, so I'm voting for keeping them as is.
